Jason Boaz, Fire Chief

Jason Boaz is a Sonoma County native and a 20 year fire service veteran. He has lived in Healdsburg since 1989 and a graduate of the Santa Rosa Junior College Fire Academy. Chief Boaz began his career as a Reserve Firefighter with the City of Healdsburg. After spending time working for Skywalker Ranch Fire in Marin County and Boise City Fire Department in Idaho, Jason came back to Healdsburg as an Fire Engineer in 2002.  He spent 10 years as a Fire Captain, with three as the department Training Officer. Jason has served as Fire Chief for two and a half years and oversees a staff of 10 full-time personnel and 19 reserve firefighters. He also is currently the Vice President of the Sonoma County Fire Chiefs Association and a member of the REDCOM dispatch board of Directors. Jason has a Bachelor’s Degree in Ethics and Public Policy from The University of California Santa Barbara and will be completing his Masters in Public Administration from Sonoma State in 2018. He lives in the Dry Creek Valley with his Wife Alison and four children.
