On St. Patrick’s Day brave Rotarians, their supporters, and their comfort animals gather at 6:00 AM at Costeaux’s French Bakery.

Rotary International was a founding member of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative in 1988. Through decades of commitment and work by Rotary and its partners, more than 2.5 billion children have received the oral polio vaccine.

Many Rotarians worldwide contribute toward a fund known as “PolioPlus”. The Rotary Club of Healdsburg raises money for PolioPlus through a fun annual event called Green Hair Day, on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17. Healdsburg Rotarians solicit pledges from their supporters to paint their hair green with all funds going to PolioPlus.

On Friday, March 17, brave Rotarians, their supporters, and their comfort animals will gather at 6:00 AM at Costeaux’s French Bakery. The Rotarians get their hair painted green and then they all parade with other revelers around the Healdsburg Plaza! It’s truly a fun event and it’s amazing how generous our members and friends are in support of PolioPlus! Join us!

With an increase in world-wide paralytic cases from six to 30 due to wild-type virus from 2021 to 2022 and a disturbing paralytic case in New York state due to an imported vaccine- derived polio virus in 2022, we really need your help.  Please donate to PolioPlus by going to healdsburgrotary.org. Let your Healdsburg Rotarians know that you support them in painting their hair green!
